Renewed

So we're officially heading towards the last week of my stay here in Singapore!
I don't know if I should be excited that I'm heading back to Melbourne... I'm confused.

Anyway, it has been a wonderful wonderful week, filled with amazing catch ups with friends that I haven't met in a while.

On wednesday, I managed to hang out with Roseanne. Ate the best yong tau fu at lucky plaza (huge thanks to Roseanne's great recommendation) and then headed to cine for some frolick. Can't believe we didn't once stop talking during the 4+ hours we met up for. So many stories to share and I've got to say.... I'm so blessed to have known such an amazing girl who's gone through so, so much in this short time that we've lived so far and I have so much respect for her.

So proud of you Roseanne, continue to do what you do and one day I swear you'll make it. :-)

Managed to get this ^ from her instagram, so cute of her to make this!! :')

Thursday I headed back to TKGS with my homegurl Filzah. Reunited with the familiar sight of the canteen tables, the friendly canteen auntie, and of course the cheap nostalgic canteen food. (which always includes my $1 peach tea)

Also went back to TK only to realise that my sec 3 chemistry teacher Mr Ahmad has become a poster boy and his face was all around the circular block. I just HAD to take a picture with my favourite teacher's face.

The poster boy himself. ^

Hung around the 4th floor corridors chilling with Filzah, enjoying the cool thursday breeze talking about all the things we used to do back in TK.

Below is the familiar walkway I always walked (either half asleep or half awake) to get my butt to chinese class which was 4/8. Where Shannon, Sam and I would make lao shi cry all the time with our lame jokes and stupid faces. And every other week/month we would ask if she was preggers or not because of her slight tummy. (It started off as an honest question at first, but it ended up being too funny.)

Always feels so good to be back in TKGS. Always, always feels like home. #TKPRIDE

Friday started off pretty well. Met up with Marcus for brunch at Changi City Point, which I mistook it's name for city square mall. Meh.

We had brunch at Eggs & Berries, and the food was simply amazing. Super super good food and worth the price. I loved the mushrooms, especially. So if you guys are looking for an alternative for robert timm's all day breakfast, you should definitely try this place.

Talked about school, life and what the future holds. Can't believe it's been close to 5 years. Scares me that we've all grown so old too quickly. :(

Saturday was a rainy day which meant sleeping in and spending my afternoon chilling with my family. It was a good saturday well spent in my PJs. With the best non judgmental company. I love my family.

Headed over to my grandma's place for dinner (still in my PJs) and my aunt brought over their 1 year old sausage dog, Robin. He's so adorable and always so busy walking trotting around.

Observe:

So cuttteee i cannotttttksldkfkjgkhj4tg you guys need to take a look into his eyes *___*

So here comes Sunday.
Headed to church today and had Song Tao lead us for bible study today.

Can't say I'm super involved in my small group, nor did I put in enough effort to be any closer to any one of the people in there but it's so touching to see them still bothering to keep up with me and ask me how I'm doing in the most sincere way. Also had some of them stay back and pray for me and my survival of the exams and everything else that I'm going to head towards when I'm back in Melbourne. So so so so so thankful for this group of wonderful people that I've basically grown up with.

And another special moment I had today in small group was when I got to sit down with my 2 closest friends I have in there, Christelle and Amelia.

I'll always remember Amelia was one of the rare few that thought my shitty short hair looked cool and nice. Thank you for every single valentine/christmas/new years card and present, because each letter had such sweet intentions and sincere wishes in it, I can't help but feel touched whenever I read any one of your letters.

Though I'm not as close to them as I was back in sec 1-3, it was still so great to be able to catch up with what they were up to with their lives and school, ask for prayer requests and pray for one another.

We don't really have many photos together, we never really talked on the phone or had that many heart to heart talks. But when we did, it was always so heartwarming to know that there are friends that truly mean and wish the best for you.

That one sleepover at Wan Lin's place back when we were sec 2 is still so clear in my mind- watching a gazillion episodes of chuck, playing bridge non stop till 6am, sleeping on the couch with Amelia till the alarm rang and we headed to macs for breakfast.

I don't do things to show how much I treasure these people, because I'm so lazy. It's a flaw in me that I always tend to take things for granted and never treasure them enough before it's too late. :(

(super unflattering picture of most of us here but yeah it's one of the few I could find)

Thank you MTC for being ever so nice and friendly even though I sometimes skip church (only because we overslept), being so understanding when I had my reasons for not signing up for camps. For being so encouraging to one another whenever we need prayer and guidance.

It makes me feel so happy and proud that so many of you guys are stepping up to be leaders in various ways. Song Tao being our peer leader, helping Mark out. Amelia being an Assistant Camp Leader back in last december's YM camp. Christelle becoming a YSGL (Youth Small Group Leader) to the new sec 1s coming in. Timothy leading worship on stage.

Those breakfasts, retreats, fellowship-sunday-activities throughout the years will not be forgotten because I had fun during all of them. I don't say how grateful I am to know you guys enough, so here's one for you all.

Okay, so here's a week long update! Thanks for sticking it out with me you guys.
Have an awesome week ~~~~~~~
