Anyway, here's the 6 day trip update that I am embarking on, starting with day 1!
If you all didn't know, I was really looking forward to Sydney because:
1) It was part of my YOYO plan- to be spontaneous and try something new.
2) Travelling alone for the first time. Again, stepping out of the comfort zone.
3) I get to see a few friends and my cousin!
So my first day started off at 9:45 am, crawling out of bed with jasmine. Jasmine stayed over the night before and we spent the whole night watching retarded gwiyomi (idgaf how you spell it) videos and laughing our butts off.
Rushed over to the post office to get my parcel sent over to Em as fast as possible! (Because everyone needs something to brighten up their shitty days before it gets... shitter.) Can't thank God enough for blessing me with such an amazing friend. Also really excited for our adventures we said we would have when I'm back in Singapore!
Was super nervous throughout the whole time I was waiting for the charter bus to come over and pick me up. (Kiasu Tan on the prowl)
In the end I reached an hour early and it turns out that since I printed out my boarding pass online, I didn't need to queue so.... I was really early.
The flight there was only 1.5hrs long so it felt like I was taking a long train ride or something. Like sitting on a plane was like public transport (hahahahaha that sounded so snobbish and rich bitch-ish)
Reached Sydney airport and waited for Clement, Fion (C's girlfriend) and Jie jie to come pick me up!
(the only photo I managed to snap of the airport without looking like a complete weirdo azn tourist)
Clement then decided to take us to the North side of Sydney, to a small beach town called Manly. It was nearly 1.5 hrs by car but it was nice just catching up with all of them. Plus, Clement's car was comfortable as hell and based on the fact that the last time I sat in a car was in January before I left for Melbourne...... sitting in a mercedes convertible felt amazing.
Manly beach was nothing short of beautiful and relaxing. The sea was super blue, people were tanning in their bikinis- some even looked so tanned out as though they've been there for the whole day, kids learning how to surf, beach boys and their surf boards......
it was like I was on discovery channel's travel and living tv series on "top 50 beaches you have to see before you die" or something like that.
The wind was messing up our hair and we both look super unflattering ugh :-(
With Jie jie! (And behind us you can see australians soaking up their sun on this glorious day at the beach) ((how I wish I had my girls and my bikini omg it would be so amazing to tan here. And no entrance fee of $2.50. Sentosa can suck it with it's fake sand and fake water bodies.))
With Clement, our awesome tour guide/driver/food guide for the whole Sydney trip. Can't thank him enough for everything!
Can we just take a second to marvel at the sea and it's layers and layers and different depths of blue, green and turquoise?
To end our afternoon at Manly beach, we headed over to a small cafe by the beach to have some munch because I haven't eaten anything the whole day. Also managed to get these pastries from the super famous pastry shop called Adriano Zumbo which lived up to their name omg their stuff taste HEAVENLY.
And I was never much of a pastry person. I was more of a ice cream and chocolate type of person. So this, was damn good.
I feel like I haven't done Manly Beach justice with the photos I have snapped on my phone. Ughhhh it's just so beautiful I wish I could just fly you all there so you'd get what I mean when I say beautiful. :-(
I guess this is what we have to deal with. Clement has some photos on his camera but God knows when he's gonna be uploading those onto facebook so.... I'm sorry in advance if there is a lack of pictures.
We ended off the evening by having dinner at this chinese restaurant in the CBD area in the North. It sounds far and weird but let's just imagine it as though it's like..... AMK Hub. The "city/office-filled" area in AMK. Makes sense...? Something like that.
They had THE best claypot cooked crabs with tang hoon and an endless refill of soup. And man, I haven't had good soup in so long and my chinese roots were literally screaming for more soup so I had a good 3 servings of it. (Plus hot soup in the cold weather? Score.)
Had an early night because we all needed our rest for the next day's event: The Sydney Royal Easter Show!
.......Which I will blog about in the next post!

Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,
So do our minutes hasten to their end.
