X: YOYO: Sydney Day 3 & 4

Hello world, I am sorry for the lack of updates.

My life recently has just been revolving around procrastinating, studying, midnight suppers with Shona, Giselle and Juliette, trying to keep up with the Uni kiddos Tim, Belle and Nette on weekends and trying to find time to spend with my Trinity bitches Yin and Jasmine.

It's pretty crazy and I feel so exhausted.
Just let me go back to Singapore..... :-(
So not looking forward to finals starting on the 18th May and packing up my whole room and moving out of Palmerston. Moving. Sucks. (yay what a grown up thing to say.) ((not))

Anyway, here's the 3rd and 4th day of my trip Sydney!
Can't believe its been a month since my trip there. Ugh I miss Sydney and all its magic. I'm nearing the end of this update of my trip, so please do bear with me. Hahaha it's so draggy only because I take fricking ages to actually sit myself in front of my laptop, select and upload photos, and do a relatively decent blog entry on it. Meh.

Day 3:
Started off the day waking up late for my high tea appointment with Darlia at QVB (Queen Victoria Building) and rushed out of the house.
QVB's interior seriously reminded me of Raffles City... except a little more classy and older. And right below in the basement, is a metro stop as well! Sounds like RC with the MRT station right under it too.

Did a couple of things I never thought I would do in a long time:

1. I took a bus! Alone! In a city/state/country that I have never been to before! Purely relying on directions and buildings to recognise along my 20 minute bus ride given to me by Clement the night before. And I made it all in one piece. So proud!!!!!! :-)

2. Had high tea. Well, ok this isn't my first time having high tea, but it was my second time and my first with a friend! Catching up with Darlia was so fun and I learnt a lot about Australians and their student/party/college culture. Sure sounds different from what Singaporeans experience. Haha.

With my sydney girl darlia! Can't believe we still stayed friends since we were 7 till now! From primary school friends, to pen pals when she first moved over to sydney.... good times.

So we caught up for a good 4 hours. It was crazy at the amount of things we managed to talk about and we didn't even know time flew by so quickly. She had a driving lesson to rush to, so I called up Giselle (who also stays at Palmerston but she flew over to Sydney during the break as well) and we hung out for the rest of the day!

Shopped like crazy the whole afternoon omg (thus explaining my relatively big haul on my instagram)

So after the whole afternoon of shopping, we decided to head to a Korean BBQ place called Madang that was highly recommended by Clement and Fion!

Apparently it was so popular that queues usually last for an hour or so!

Giselle and I were pretty nervous because we initially couldn't find the stupid place because it was hidden in some alley thing, and we got our directions mixed up.

But thanks to trusty google maps and our wonderful instincts, we made it!

See the "Madang" signboard? That Madang closed down. The REAL Madang was behind it. Misleading much?

Thank God we came in earlier than the crowd, so we got our seats immediately. :-)

The food was dfjkndkjbfkngkejt DELICIOUS and omg by far one of the best Korean BBQs I've had. The seafood pancake was the bomb diggity as well, so thank you Clement and Fion for the wonderful recommendation!

Day 4:

This day basically consisted of many touristy photos because we initially planned to head over to Blue Mountains, but the plan failed because:
1. It was forecasted to rain.
2. Clement was tired after moving the whole night. And we all wanted more sleep.
3. 2 hour drives don't seem that fun.

So Clement brought all of us around the touristy places in the city area!

The seafood platter was so good and the salmon as well, because everything was superrrrr fresh! Like literally, the fishing pier was just behind this market and they get sold almost immediately. Yum. The calamari was A+++++

I remember snapping this photo to send it to the girls on how cute the guys were at the other table. Ha ha stalker FAIL.

Funny story: We were driving through the clubbing street/area in Sydney later on in the night and it was crazy at the fact that the cab next to us stopped by the road and out came this SAME group of guys!!! I was literally going mad in the car hahahah everyone just judge la ok just judge. FATE OR????

Yes. A whole bag of fresh prawns on the right. SO GOOD.

And then we went to this park that managed to have a beautiful view of all the touristy landmarks Sydney has to offer! Picture overload, sorry!

Sydney CBD! The sun was evidently not on our side. ugh.

My big head was blocking the Opera House. :-(

And then we headed over to another place with another pretty view! Darling harbour! It felt so much like Clarke Quay + Robertson Quay. Missing Singapore so much nowwwwowowowowow.

Managed to catch the breathtaking sunset. Pink skies are always the best. :-)

People need help naming their restaurants.

Anyway, headed over to The Star which is really very much like MBS and their casino and stuff. Went there basically for MESSINA ICE CREAM.

Apparently it's the best gelato in AUSTRALIA????

Shared 3 scoops with Jie jie and HOLY MOLY I KNOW WHY IT IS THE BEST. It was so good I actually went to get another double scoop for myself. And I have never actually went to get a second serving of ice cream. It was THAT good guys.

You MUST try this when you're in Sydney.

Walked past Adrianno Zumbo pastry shop and it was so packed and everything was already sold out.
According to Tim, he's really famous and his desserts are always featured in Australia's masterchef? Wow. Pretty bummed that I didn't get to try his macaroons because I heard they were super good.
